Do you really think there's a way to know without an ultrasound? Wait a few months, have an ultrasound, and hope it's correct. Or wait until it's born. Then you will know.

Just wanted to say that bornfree4444 is full of it. My baby has a fast heart rate and I'm having the worst heartburn of my life. And guess what? I'm having a boy! So listen to the rest of these people. An ultrasound or amniocentesis are the only true ways to know the gender of the baby, other than when it comes out and you can see in person. If you're really anxious you can try the chinese lunar calendar or some of the other Old wive's tales, but know that they are just for fun and do not take the place of an ultrasound. Good luck! I hope you get the gender you want, but you'll love the baby either way, right? : )

At six weeks the only difference between a boy and a girl is in the chromosomes. There are no physical differences at all yet. Eventually an ultrasound will be able to tell you, but that is many weeks down the road.

When I first found out I was pregnant, I felt that I was going to have a girl. Everyone around me thought I was having a boy. But, like everyone else is saying - there is no way to tell for sure. By the way - I had a girl. So my feeling is - trust YOUR instincts more than someone else's.

If you are big for how many months you are, then people automatically assume you're having a boy because usually the boy makes your stomach look bigger. But my friend had a huge stomach and we all bet on it that it was a boy and she had a girl. So, you really can't tell.

How could anyone possibly know, through any means, so early on? You may not even get to find out in the ultrasound what you're having, if and when that happens, but that is just about the only way of knowing.

Why do you want to know the sex of the baby? Just be happy that you are pregnant and enjoy. When the baby is born it will be a wonderful surprise and the personality of each little bundle is what makes them all so special.

there is a fifty-fifty chance that you will have a boy
if you have an ultrasound test done, or an amniocentises test, then you might find out before you deliver, otherwise there is no magical way to know beforehand

Six weeks is a little early to tell the sex of your baby. You won't know the gender until you go for a sonagram.
