how would you feel if people think it's ok to eat you because you have no feelings?

I wouldn't worry about it. I'd have good self-esteem, so I wouldn't care what other people or other fish thought. I would just swim about and mind my own business, being careful to avoid metal hooks, all manner or lures, and of course nets, and I would figure when my time in the water was up, it was up, and I'd go to that little hatchery in the sky.

People would continue eating fish even knowing they have feelings - just as they do with lamb, cows, birds, snakes, cats, dogs, and pigs.
Personally, I minimize my intake of anything with a face.

anyway good source material on how fish "feel" is to read "The Sword in the Stone" by TH White. it's suggested reading for you in regards this question as i understand it.

I think fish REALLY do know they are alive
Ultimately I feel sorry for lobsters though ... they are just 'eyeing' the next potential buyer, and obviously know they are in danger just for the mere fact they're in a tank w/bands tightened over their claws[those sad little beady black eyes just kill me!]
But back to fish,I'd be utterly insulted. and then pray w/my fins that I'm reincarnated to live again

Some people do what they can get away with. If you're unable to fight back they don't care that you have feelings. Things can be justified with many excuses, so the particular justification used doesn't really matter.

I'd feel pretty pissed off. this is coming from a vegetarians point of view, but regardless of feelings, all animals can feel pain, no matter how minuscule it may be. I'm sure they feel it a great deal.

I would be a very gloomy fish:( Hey...you there!...the inconsiderate jerk/human! before you slice and dice me up just like how you did to that other fish, who was swimming next to me a minute ago, would you give me some novacaine to numb the pain from my depression & your evil kitchen knife.
