Do you realize Janis Joplin died two weeks later after Jimi Hendrix 's death in the same year of 1970? Also they're both same age of 27 when they both died! Very ironic to you?

Same with Jim Morrison too. 27...Hendrix died way too young...Imagine how much life the pathetic music industry would have today, had he lived. I look at music now and it's just so pathetic, and lame...Hendrix would have probably helped that not happen, or at least delayed it...

both of these talented artists were burnt out from constant touring and having no real life. When you are on the road all the time it's one constant party. Unfortunately the party caught up with them. It's a shame because they both were at the very top of their talent. When Janis Joplin died she left an album not quite finished and when it was released she finally got her first number one hit, Me and Bobby Magee.
A year before their death, July 03, 1969, Brian Jones of the rolling stones died at age 27 . also at the age of 27 Jim Morrison died on July 3 1971.

Actually it was 16 days. Jimi died 9/18/70 Janis 10/4/70. It's how life can be sometimes, ironic not just death. You do know also they both were heavy drug users. It's no wonder they died so young.

I have realized that long ago, it's the 27 years old curse of the rock stars (Kurt Cobain also died at the age of 27). They made the world look beautiful, at least for a period, but they are still making the world look beautiful to someone.

So sad. Those were true musicians with the talent and passion to make it for many many many years. Same with Jim Morrison. Some of my favorite musicians who have passed away. Along with John Lennon.. effin brilliant

They, and the youth culture was about to take over. He couldn't have that.
