The only thing that can help the people of this country is a reinvigorated labor movement. Talk about labor rights and helping working people and the poor needs to be backed up with MUSCLE on the streets, with strikes that cost the powers-that-be the only thing they care about -- MONEY! And that labor movement needs a political party of its own -- the Republicrats and Demicans represent Wall Street, not Main Street.

Some changes I believe could provide more direct representation are:
Cut the size of the congress to 100, it would make it easier for them to agree upon solutions.
Eliminate offices of congress and senate in DC. Have all offices in their districts, communications by teleconferences, Internet, and voting by the same. By their offices being in their districts, the affect of lobbyist would be less, they would be more in tune the people in their districts, and the behind doors deals would be less. The government funding of the communications with security would be less than the cost of providing government offices and housing in DC, and the cost of weekly trips back to their districts to raise money for the next election. Few people realize that they only work in DC on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday they are flying back to their home districts and they return on Monday. Of course there a rare exception.
All votes should be roll call votes.
All votes should be public knowledge, posted on the net.
We as the citizens of the this country need to call our representatives on the carpet more. Demand direct answers, and tell them to stop dividing the country by pointing fingers about the opposition party and get a solution to our problems.

Your last point about relaxing banking regulations, either you are from the robber Baron days of old prior to the stock market crash or your Neil Bush trying to pull another savings and loan scandal that cost American tax payers 500 billion and the Bushes walked away with 6 million. Also the relaxation of banking regulations has in-turn created the housing/mortgage problem we are currently in as well. Lastly, hands off government does not work when it comes to environmental problems. As we know corporations with the "help" of the US government until the rise of the environmental movement in the 60's and the creation of the EPA in 1972, that "for profit" industries cannot be trusted without public oversight. Everyone seems to forget that in the 50's and 60's we nearly wiped out our bird population and to this day almost every single square inch of soil can be found to still have traces of petro-chloride based pesticides.

I guess vote for Kucinich. And constantly call Congress about ending the war, getting nationalized health care, ending support for israel, and definitely never ever supporting hillary.

I am not usually this blunt, but jeez.....
What colossal arrogance.
When your favorite candidate doesn't win it does NOT mean the Republic has been STOLEN from the citizens.
It means most the citizens who voted didn't vote for your guy.
Seriously, support who you want but please
Stop the melodramatic whining.

Simple, vote democrat(with the exception of clinton). Republicans want those on top to prosper and benafit, not the everyday working man.
