I voted for Nader because It's against my principals to vote for the two parties that have ******* us for so long. I'll throw my vote away next election also, it feels great. Clinton sold out to the corporations just like Gore was going to. The writing was on the wall. That's why no legal controlling authority boy lost...Ross Perot took 18 percent from Bush Sr. we all know that was a good thing. Republicans had to become Conservative again, and it gave us newt greengitch.. it only lasted a short while though now we have super Nazis running the country...Third parties Like Nader should force the Dem's to hold the line.. but they wont the fat money being shoved in their pockets is too much to resist...

Only those who voted in states where Al Gore had a chance of winning. For those folks who voted in solid red states whose electoral votes had no chance of going to Gore, voting for Nader was safe.
And, say what we will about those Floridians who voted for Nader, if Bush hadn't stolen the election by throwing tens of thousands of legal black voters off the Florida voting rolls with the help of jeb and katherine harris, it wouldn't have mattered who voted for nader.
In a democracy, people should be free to vote for whom they choose, regardless of the political calculations of other voters.
The big questions is - why did nader run. He was smart enough to know he'd be a spoiler and take votes from gore.

Because they were single-issue environmentalists who would accept no partial moves toward a better environment but insisted on 100% correction.
The difference between improving and degrading are trivial to them, since both are not 100%.

Waa, Waa, Waa... I am a Historian and I don't dwell on the past nearly as much as whiny liberals who complain about the past elections.
Note: Not all Liberals are whiny, this is just in reference the ones who can't get over the elections they lost.

maybe they dont realize as you do, how the system works.
i certainly agree that voting for bush was the equal of taking votes away from Gore.
perhaps they saw it as choosing the lesser of two evils?
