here are 3 pics of 3 butternut squash plants. Some have spotted white leaves, some have nearly all white leaves and the 3rd has a combo of both. I live in Southern CA. Are these squash plants diseased? If so, are they able to be saved or should they be dug up and replaced with new healthy plants?

I couldn't see the pix, but it sounds like they have powdery mildew. It can be caused by too much water, or sometimes the mildew spores are in the soil and you just need to put the plants in another location next year. There isn't much you can do about the mildew once it's attacked the plants. Prevention by spraying with a mildewcide/herbicide is the only thing you can do. Replace these plants and start over.

Looks like mildew. Do not water the leaves, especially at night. Flood/soak irrigate early in the day.

These plants should recover. You could spray with some copper sulfate. Don't know if you need to.

Water deeply and less often. The squash should still grow nice.
