I am just curious. When we were still in school, we studied in groups. If there was anything we did not know, we consulted each other.

However, did you always study in groups? Were there not moments where you felt you had to study alone, so as to clarify certain things to yourself.

Did you always depend on study groups and studied together?

There's no doubt in my mind that successful education on almost every topic is a mixture of lecture or classroom teaching, study groups or classroom rebate, and private study or homework. How these three disciplines are balanced depends on the subject being studied and the psyche of the student. The more successful students will almost always be those who can easily recognise the difference between the three.

depends on the type of school. law school is famous for study groups. other programs bring about study groups as well. but other than these many instances, i know of no reason why one needs, nor should need, a study group. an option is a college frat group, to buddy up and know ahead in more detail about the classes and professors / exams ,so you can beat the system. but in the end, you must still take the exams yourself.

Well, I have never used a study group and have always studied alone. I did however ask a lot of questions during lectures! Didn't stop me going on to higher education (law degree etc) so I guess it just depends on what works for you.

There are people who learn better studying on their own. Not everyone does well in a study group. It only worked for me if the subject was hard to understand.

I study alone. First, learning is better when you teach yourself rather than have someone do it for you. Second, I have the tendency to just talk and goof off rather than study when Im around others.
