I had an admissions interview with Thunderbird today and I don't think it went well. For my answer to the "Why our school" question I somehow drew a blank and gave a weak answer. I tried to salvage and expand on my answer, but I stuttered and it was definitely a lackluster performance. I answered most of the other questions ok, but there was maybe one or two others that I gave answers that were weak. I don't feel like I was able to say everything I wanted, especially in the clearest way, and I don't think I was able to show the amount of knowledge I actually knew about the program. However, I did ask a lot of questions and I think that showed my interest and knowledge a little. I did much better asking the questions. What kind of impact can this have on my admission? Does that fact that I made the effort to interview, showed interest, dressed nice, etc., basically I sought out the opportunity, count for something?

Yes, these interviews can make a significant difference, but rest assured that most people have a very different impression of their own performance than does the interviewer. If the interview wasn't required, it makes less of a difference, and yes, it would matter that you tried, but usually the real reason for these interviews is to make sure you have the social skills to handle the business world, so it isn't true that they just want to make you think it was hard to get in.

Don't worry at all if everything else in your application is good (GPA, recommendations....). You will get an admission, they just do these things to make you feel it's not easy to get in . What they really need is your money.
Get this out of your head and enjoy your nite!
