round ligament pain. Its God awful, isnt it! But its normal. Your growing uterus is stressing the ligaments that anchor it in place, and you can easily over stress them by moving too fast, or apparently just by breathing!!!! Its gonna get worse before it gets better, and yes, it can scare you if you are caught off gaurd. But its worth it!!Good luck!!

Don't panic baby will be fine and you wont loose the little one This is normal to feel like this. As you are 18 weeks i would suggest that you do some pelvic floor exercises to try and tone your muscles up. As baby grows you muscles do get weaker. And lien on your left side is the best by all means for baby and you. And congratulations this is just the beginning of mother hood.
I am 31 weeks and have the same problem so good Luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
Mum of 3 and 1 on the way xx

Don't worry. I had the same thing happen to me and I was really worried about it. The pain felt like knives were being stuck into my sides and I thought something was seriously wrong. But the pain would go away and then come back in a few days. It's your uterus stretching or expanding and it can hurt very badly, but do not worry unless you are bleeding or if the pain will not go away at all or ease up any. I assure you that it is just the stretching of your uterus. Just try to find a comfortable position or try to keep your mind off of it when it happens, I know it's painful but hang in there.

It is awful pain, i get it a lot if i stand up too quickly or sitting in an awkward position. Just breath and try to slowly change position, it does get better.

I think your ok ,,,,your where alot of moms start gaining weight and with this weight gain comes numbness and sharp pains.. My hip would go numb or hurt if I slept that way to long, I hate to say this but the further along you get the worse the numbness and soreness get.Good luck!! Ask your doctor at your next visit.

It could be plurasey - an inflimation in the lining of the outer lung.
Go to the docs tomorrow or go to the ER if it is really bad or you have difficulty breathing
