My period should have been here by now, but it's not. I thought it was definitely coming today because I've been having all of my symptoms (I get overly-emotional and cry alot, food cravings, cramps, etcs). When I went to the bathroom earlier today, there was blood when I wiped. I thought this for sure meant my period was here, but there has been absolutely no bleeding since then. Nothing. This has never happened to me before, and my period is usually always regular. I'm a really paranoid person, so I was hoping someone could help me out. What is usually the cause of something like this?

Sounds normal, this sometimes happens to me, I get the pain or something and then maybe even a little spotting but then the real period comes later than expected...either that or there's the first bit of blood, then a delay of a few hours...should be normal especially if you've already had blood, however if you suspect there may be another cause for the blood, or your period doesn't come in a few days, maybe you should see your doctor.

Sometimes a period may be so light that all one gets is slight bleeding. If worried about pregnancy, do a home pregnancy test. Usually when someone gets a light period it is because they did not ovulate. However, and this is a big however, it could be because a person is pregnant. Follow up with your doctor/health department about this.

You will be fine. Your period may start here in the next 12 to 24 hours. Do not worry.

It sounds like your period is getting ready to start. I don't know if you're sexually active. Sometimes pregnant women have spotting when they miss their first period. Sometimes cervical erosion causes spotting. It seems very early to panic right now. Give it a "minute" before you decide you're experiencing something abnormal.

This usually means the onset of your period. Just relax sometimes tension keeps it from coming on too.

if you have been engaged into sex this past few months or maybe weeks, most likely youd be delayed.
it was hormones, no need to hurry, but if you really are paranoid, you can go check out with the doctor.

your probably just spotting and if it didn't happen before, that's okay, as we get older, our bodies change and the hormone levels alter and that causes spotting to occur as well...
are you pregnant? if you are sexually active, you never know! well, i hope this narrows it down...
