Having been a Kathleen all my life... For some reason I hate when people think Kathy is short for Catherine, but I really like it when it is spelled Kathryn. So I say go for it as long as you spell it the way you have it here. Just my own personal opinion... which is what you asked for anyway :-)
Any middle names to go with it? Stay away from Frances, thats mine and that part I hate, sorry Grandma!

It's a very good name. I grew up with a friend named Kathryn...they called her Katy until she was 15 & she switched to Kathryn.
Not trendy at all...and that's a very good thing!

I love it, now add an e to the end and it would be perfect! Kathryne =). Someone I know spells it that way. congrats and good luck.

I'm sorry but the name Kathryn doesn't sound like a cool professional one, it sounds all girlly, now being a girl myself I would not choose that one for my daughter, maybe if you spelt it the other way it would look better. CATHERYN. Maybe I don't know

I do - my sisters name is Kathryn - she's always Kath to us. It dates well into adulthood too.
