Give other people thumbs down just because they express their feelings?
Am I the only one that noticed that...

OMG YEAHH! sometimes i just say something honest..like someone posted a joke but i seriously didn't get it and i got ilke 4 thumbs down..i was seirously pissed off and i didn't mean it in a mean way.. & some people are jsut like that..that's why i've emailed yahoo asking if they can get rid of it..but the good thing is that if you get thumbs up & best answer, every thumbs up you get is counted as a point!

There has been times where comments have been given that are highly inappropriate and i have given Thumps Down to those........
If people are been honest and somewhat respectful at the same time than i think that's ok and would not give someone a Thumps Down because of it, however if rude and inappropriate comments like personal attacks on the person or remarks or suggestions like they should go, kill themselves are made i will give thumps down.
It's totally uncalled for and you don't know what type of mind frame that person might be in and how they might react to those type of remarks.
At the end of the day everyone has a different view and just like you feel you have a right to express how you feel, the people giving you thumps down feel they have a right to disagree with you.
We're all different with different opinions. That makes life interesting.

It seem to me that most people do that in order to make it look like their answer is better. Others do it because they may not agree with your opinion. It is nothing personal most of the time. Some people just do it because,...well they have nothing better to do. I think that if you give a person a thumbs down it should be for saying something you feel is very bad advise or a very wrong answer. Just remember, don't take it personally. I have given thumbs down to answers I though were mean as well. There are a lot of hateful people on here for some reason. Well like I said I would just ignore them. =)

i dont think ive ever given somebody a thumbs down unless their answer was ligitimatly (sp?) wrong

i give thumbs down to:
*RUDE answers(it's fine if someone is honest, however, if someone is extremely rude in his or her honesty, i don't take that).
*spam
*racist/biased answers etc.

They are just trying to help reccommend the best answer to the asker.
