He could have killed innocent men and women and children behind the wheel of his car. This chump is the only president to take office with a criminal record.

Yeah, I want a DUI convict running the military. NOT!

I guess the voters decided that they would rather have a guy that got caught drunk driving than either a delusional idiot or a traitor. It sounds like you would rather have a delusional idiot you know, the guy that invented the internet and the one whose life "Love Story" was about. Or a traitor, the guy that went to Paris (twice!) and discussed with the North Vietnamese what might be beneficial for the protest movement to do in this country to get us to pull out while he was still a member of the armed forces. I'm fairly certain that for a member of the armed forces to participate in collusion with the enemy it would be considered treason. Of course Kerry's membership in the Forbes family had nothing to do with the fact that he was never prosecuted for that but he has admitted to it. Those guys may not have a "criminal record" but they're guilty as hell of far more than a Saturday night DUI.

He may be the only President, but certainly not the only person holding a major office. Ted Kennedy got drunk, killed a girl in his car, and ran away like a coward leaving her to die, and he's still a Senator. Wing-nut Robert Byrd belonged to the KKK, and he keeps his job.

We do not hold our politicians up to any sort of moral standard. That's why they are such scum.

You are really kidding yourself if you think our past Presidents were crime-free, whether they had a record or not.

George Washington had plenty of problems himself!

What about Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings.

I don't like Bush, but Drunk Driving is so common in this country that it probably helped him get elected.

I don't believe it is on his record, I believe he had it expunged before his presidency.

Nixon ALMOST had a criminal record while president!

Of all the problems with Bush, his ticket in Maine is probably the least problematic!

Probably because it was in 1976 & he was 30 years old.
He had given up all drinking over 25 yrs earlier & Americans as a whole are Christian & believe in forgiving.
Just because he was the 1st president to ADMIT his guilt does not mean he is the only one guilty. Check out the crimes of Clinton & Kennedy, just lied instead of admitting.
Esp. judgement errors & since you are obviously not in the military & do not understand how it runs there is no problem for you other than your political party.

Who cares.

He did the crime and took the punishment.

Nothing bad happened, if it did we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Why do people have to be perfect now? There is no perfection in any humans, not here, not there, not anywhere.

And are you so virtuous that you have the right to judge others based on past stupid behavior?

Finally, no I am not a Neo-Con, I am a realist who thinks good ole George sold us a bill of goods, but his DUI means nothing.

Because the supposedly liberal media chose not to make an issue about it - not even bringing it up until less than a week before election day, and then endorsing him anyway.

After Marion Barry was caught on film smoking crack, and Senator William Jefferson was caught with $90,000.00 of the $100,000.00 he took in a sting operation they were both re-elected. You commys can do it but we conservatives can't. You elected an accused rapist to the White House two times too.

What a sad state of affairs for this country.
