Better Actor - Brando
Better Movie Star - Bogie.
Impossible to compare them. Bogie played a version of himself that was unique and compelling.
Brando played other people imerssed himself in a role.
Very different approaches.

The Academy awards are sometimes given to the same actors where the popular votes of the fans would also have agreed.
In 1951, the Academy OSCAR was given to Humphrey Bogart for his role as Charlie Allnut in "The African Queen". One Oscar for his 3 lifetime nominations.
However, the BEST Actress / supporting Actress / and supporting Actor awards, went to roles in "Streetcar Named Desire" 1951. Marlon Brando did NOT receive the BEST Actor award that year along with his co-stars.
Marlon Brando snubbed the Academy ever since, and just left America altogether to live in the South Pacific.
BOGART QUOTE ABOUT BRANDO:
"I came out here with one suit and everybody said I looked like a bum. Twenty years later Marlon Brando came out with only a sweatshirt and the town drooled over him. That shows how much Hollywood has progressed."
BOGART QUOTE:
"I made more lousy pictures than any actor in history."
BRANDO'S AWARDS:
National Society of Film Critics Award, two New York Film Critics Circle Awards, two Academy Awards, an Emmy Award, five Golden Globe Awards, a Western Heritage Award, three British Academy Awards and a Cannes Film Festival award.

Humphrey Bogart. maximum folk right this moment (including myself) have not considered all his videos, and he made extremely some. His areas assorted a great deal, as destructive to the usually time-venerated photograph of him because of the fact the wincing, grimacing hard guy. He had plenty greater intensity than is frequently concept right this moment.

that's a subjective decision....a matter of taste. Both had their strong suits and made memorable movies. You could
probably ask "experts" and get a case made for either of
them. But, in the end, and what really matters is which you
like the best....or perhaps, you should just enjoy their movies.
