only my stomach ALWAYS feels all hard... like a friggin rock.. I get crampy feelings and these pains down in the vaginal area, kinda sharp pains, but my midwife says thats just ligaments stretching..
i'm 36 weeks, and i just was curious if my midwife has finally lost her mind.. she's kinda old and getting ready to retire.. lol

With the contractions the uterus will get even harder then it is currently. Also you may have a feeling of sudden breathless change..Kind of hard to explain. Asfor the crampy feelings and vaginal pain it is ligament pain. That is where the round ligaments that support the uterus in your pelvis is connected at the bottom of the uterus. It's miserable and can be rather intense pain wise but harmless.
When the contractions really start coming and gearing up for labor you will notice that the hardness in your uterus will definately become painful...Until then try to get as much sleep as you can since your in for a rough ride here in a few weeks!

i use to get sharp pains down there and found that it was just baby kicking my cervix. it was to the point where i would almost wanna grab myself to stop it from hurting and it was very uncomfortable. so your midwife may not have lost it yet ;). maybe your baby is like mines and is kicking away down there which is very uncomfortable. about the contractions. i have been having contractions for a while now and they said they were called laitan (sp) contractions which basically means that they are contractions that don't change the cervix. that really sucks for me because i be in so much pain and there's nothing they can really do since im 36 weeks as well. with the braxton hicks, you normally don't have pain associated with them. they don't change the cervix. and if you place your hand on the top of ur belly or uterus you can feel your belly get tight and then loosen up. hope this helps. best wishes to you and your little one.

Braxton Hicks contractions final for aproximately 30 seconds to two mins and are sometimes called train contractions. You might train respiring sports to get competent for the truly factor. If the contractions fade, don't get more potent or extra severe, and would not have a collection time among them, then it's Braxton Hicks and you have got not anything to fear approximately.
