John D. Rockefeller took part of his wealth and created the Rockefeller Foundation which was dedicated to medical research. His foundation led the way in developing a vaccine against Cholera.

was a poor kid who selled oil who then became rich by taking all of the oil companies at the time and making it into a monopoly in the late 1800's. Standard oil was the name of it and was broken up as a monopoly in 1911. Was very famous with many famous people of his time, he knew the president well, Thomas Edison, Ford, and a couple other famous people. He built colleges, institutes for medicine.
