James Buchanan was the only president never to marry. Five presidents remarried after the death of their first wives—two of whom, Tyler and Wilson, remarried while in the White House. Reagan was the only divorced president. Six presidents had no children. Tyler—father of fifteen—had the most.

Wow...how such a simple question could lead to so much anger is beyond me...

The answer is, YES, the U.S. did have a bachelor president in the 20th century. That man was Woodrow Wilson, whose wife died on November 5, 1914 (midway through his first term of office). Wilson married his second wife, Edith Galt, on December 18, 1915.

So, between November 5, 1914, and December 18, 1915, the United States had a bachelor president. Some might quibble and say he was a "Widower President," but it equates to the same thing...more or less.

You have to go back to the 19th century for a bachelor president. James Buchanan, the 15th president, was never married. His niece Harriet Lane took care of the duties of the First Lady for him.

Bill Clinton should have been.

Hillary should have dumped him when he got a ******** from Monica Lewenski.

I guess she and all the presiders of the impeachment hearing were willing to turn the other cheek when he lied about it during the hearings.

If this country elects another Clinton, in this case Hillary, then I'm leaving the country.

I believe the only president who was a bachelor was James Buchanan, who served from 1857 to 1861.
