"The word "Iliad" means "pertaining to Ilium" (in Latin, Ilium), the city proper, as opposed to Troy (in Greek, Τροία, Troía; in Latin, Troia), the state centered around Ilium, over which Priam reigned. The names "Ilium" and "Troy" are often used interchangeably."

We discussed this in World Literature, and "Iliad" came from 2 words. I forgot the exact two words but what it means is "City of Troy".

It is about things from the city of Ilium, which I think is another name for Troy.

(ie., today we say things like: something is "Parisian" or "Roman")
