The earth of course rotates every 24 hours. Mars period of rotation is close at 24.6229 hours, so its day is slightly longer.

The earth rotates about 40 minutes faster than does Mars.

It is in fact very close to ours at just over 24hrs - 24.6 hours.
This as oposed to Venus that has a rotation of just one rotation every 117 days.

Hi. They are (coincidentally) about 24 hours each. Conservation of angular momentum is the cause. (Earth has slowed by the Moons influences on the tides.)

earth is closer to the sun than mars, yet mars is very hot/cold(basicly unliveable)

this show the importance of the ozone layer
soif allthe smokersoutthere and those guy polluting our air finally do break the ozone layer, then earth might look like mars... except alot hotter
