I personally thought it was crap. The only person that I can honestly say has a shot at a real comeback is Whitney Houston. You say what you want about her but she is talented. Brittany Spears is done.

She looked like she didn't even want to be there. While she was dancing it looked like she was counting to herself to remember the dance steps. I thought she was gonna kill it just to prove everybody wrong, but she actually had the worst performance compared to Chris Brown, Alicia Keys & the finale with Timbaland, JT & Nelly Furtado.

I think the people around her that should be helping her, that she PAYS - should have told her a NO go on the outfit (which may have been part of the reason she was uncomfortable) also I think they should have chosen a song she could sing w/microphone in hand :) I see a long dress, fitted bustline,"elegant" would have been a better choice for a comeback than the same clothes they put her in at 15. They should "Grow Up" her image and if she is going to dance pick a routine with less engergy at this point... I agree she looked like one of us up there and I am very sorry this happened to her. Maybe she will get herself together and choose a more grown up image, she still has potential but she needs a 360.

Britany looked like she was heavy on drugs - maybe she is on anxiety medication. Anyway, I hope that's the excuse. There are plenty of outfits that she could have worn to flatter her figure - It's a shame she doesn't seem to have anyone looking out for her. Good friends don't let you wear unflattering garb.
I wish Britany would learn how to sing so she didn't rely on lip-syncing. I would love to hear what she sounds like for real but I don't think we will hear her singing acapella any time soon.
Bottom line - performance sad but amusing. Makes me want to call her and tell her to put her big girl panties on and get real.

Honestly, I've been a Britney fan since she first came out. And I've tried SO hard to believe that she might be able to come back...But that performance tonight? Not enjoyable at all. It was boring, nothing special about it, and her obvious lip syncing made it even worse. I feel bad, her life is legit down the drain.

It was a huge disaster! For starters,she wore a bikini that was 2 sizes too small.
She barely danced,and didn't lip sync the whole song.
And she was clearly high,so high that she looked like she was starting to fall asleep.
Her performance looked like it was put together at the last minute.A very lame attempt to promote her new record.
It's too bad,I was really rooting for her.

She needs to work on her dance steps and do some cardio. She also should have covered her stomach. She looked tired and confused. Why did they pick her to open, i guess to get the worst out the way. I see no comeback for her.

She looked like trailer park white trash. Her hair looked horrible, she barely moved her mouth while lip syncing, so I thought she would at least dance like she used to. But no, she couldn't shake her booty to much because her stomach would jiggle. She was awful. She should lay off the drugs, stop lip syncing, and concentrate on her two beautiful boys.

I was just going to post this same question! She looked totally loopy, I told my husband that we just watched this girl kill her career! She looked like she was falling asleep and a few times she lost her footing! Every one they panned to in the audience was thinking what the rest of America was thinking "WTF?". I know it is cruel but I laughed, it is funny she has all the money in the world but could not by happiness! Oh and by the way the VMA's sucked I am mad I wasted space on my DVR for it!

she sucked her dance was a mess and she wasnt trying she did it with a "I dont wanna be here face.....also she lip singed and forget some lyrics and she looked tired from all the partying......i am really mad at her i wanted to make her comeback i just gave up on her i hope she had never met k-fuckerline she was so much better before she used to be a queen

She ummmm... wasn't so good!!! She's going to have to work a lot harder to earn the "Pop Princess" title. I thought she looked great, but very unsure of herself... More so than ever before in her career. She had that confidence before; why would she doubt herself now? Just a big let-down. I was hoping for more...
