You can be a liberal and be a Christian. Jesus taught to love one another just as he loved us. Jesus never said to hate Democrats or Republicans or Muslims or Jews or anyone else because of what they believe. Jesus taught to love thy neighbor as thyself. Jesus never said to bomb thy neighbor. Jesus fed the hungry and healed the sick. He never told them to stop milking his system and to go without healthcare because it costs too much money. Just as Republicans feel they can pull bits of the Bible to justify their beliefs and actions, Liberals have just as much information from Christ to justify their beliefs. You can love Jesus and still make your own politican decisions. No one has an exclusive claim on Christ.

Conservative don't claim them all as their own... However, we are the party that is defending him... we are not trying to take him out of everything public... schools, public buildings, off our money, out of our country's pledge, or anywhere else. We are not appologists for our beliefs. We don't believe that celebrating them our acknowleging them is forcing them upon anyone. You can worship as you please in this country. I don't see a Jewish temple and get all offended... I respect their beliefs and I allow them to believe as they wish. I am sure there are liberals that are Christian.. which is how I am so confussed that they could support abortion.

Jesus did teach us to love our neighbor... he also never forced anyone into these actions. He gave the commandment and the example... and he understood that the true way to live the law was by living it VOLUNTARILY... He didn't force people to give or to help... as the liberals of today do. He also taught responsibility... and taught men how to fish.... not just expect the hand out.... and yes... when the time was appropriate... he wiped out cities with plague and fire from heaven... he flooded the earth... no where did Jesus say you couldn't defend yourself. Turning the other cheek, in my opinion is geared toward smaller social issues on a personal level. Yes, I encourage all to come to Christ... but don't think it's enough to just pretend to follow him as actions will be judged and grace applied when we have honestly done all we can. I am not pointing the finger just at libs here either... many conservatives and in many regards myself, are a long way off as well.

I haven't seen that at all. I have seen many a "Christian Basher" specifically call out the "Religious Right" and in turn get a lot of conservative responders. Perhaps that is what you have been seeing. I know of no Christian Church that refuses to minister to liberal or moderate or conservative people. The same is true for many other organizations. I don't think there are baseball teams that only appeal to liberals or conservatives. Sports and religion are some of the main things that transcend politics.

I think that you are misinterpreting Republican ideals because you are a Liberal. Republicans believe in personal responsibility for success or failure. Bad choices can produce bad consequences. It's why we have bankruptcy protection and divorce. So people can learn from their mistakes and start over. But they should not expect to live like the ones who made better choices and don't have to start over.

You are correct that Christians exist in both parties and vote the way they do for the reasons they do.

It is not the Conservatives who have pushed Christians into the Republican party, it is the Liberal Secular Progressives.

I'm a CHRISTIAN and Conservative. Here's what I believe. I believe you are right in that everyone has a right too seek him. But i believe in the 10 commandments as well and "thou shalt not kill" is a big one for me to keep me where I am. You see I view abortion as murder. I also view homosexuality as an abomination and there for marriage between homosexuals would be a lessening of the marriage vows I took with my husband. I believe that's a sacred union between a man and a woman. They can have their civil unions just don't demand the right to get "married" in a place of God. These are 2 huge problems for the me and 2 huge stumbling blocks keeping me from the left

Why would you want to be a Christian?

Christianity destroyed the temples of the Goddess and then turned around and made up a fable that women are evil so that their sexuality could be controlled.

Why would ANY intelligent woman follow a religion that was made up out of thin air by men who hated women and wanted them to be chattel?
