I'm glad to see that, according to most of you, I am not yet old.
To the point of the question: It's all relative. When I was 30, I *knew* that 55 was ancient. Now that I'm 65, I would probably say 80 is old. Notice that the spread went from 25 years to 15 years.
It also depends on how much pain I have on a given day. Growing old is not for sissies. That said, the last couple of months have been very good in spite of having a birthday.
To the young whippersnapper who said 60 is old: pppppttttthhhhhpppppptttttttt.

It all depends on what age the person answering is. When I was 5, I thought 11 was old. When I was eleven, I thought 18 was old. Now that I'm 20, I could say 40-ish is old. When I'm that age, I'm guessing I'm gonna think 60s or 70s is old. And if I ever get to that age I would think 80-90-100 is old. And if I live to be 100, I will probably seem old to myself or think no one is old.

Well, age is relative. I had my 20 year class reunion recently and there were some OLD people there . My classmates didnt seem to care about looking or acting old! Now two weeks ago I went to the Rage Against The Machine/Queens of the Stone Age concert and it rocked. But I MOISTURIZE and think young and look young and feel young. So, old is a state of mind.
Life is short.
Make it count!

that purely depends on the person you are judging and the one who gives the judgment. A fit and lucid 75 year old may not be considered old, but a dim blob could be labeled old at 35.

Also for a teenager anyone in his twenties is old, whereas an 80 year old would call a 60 year old a 'kid'.

Assuming we're talking about modern day westerners who aren't expecting to die of a tumor anytime soon, I'd say up to 30 is young, 30-50 is a no mans land depending on the individual, after 50 your old, and after 65 your proper old. Some people buck the trend- I've known school leavers who seem like they should be presented with a flat cap, slippers, and fake nostril hair.

It isn't when your joints make noises, it isn't when your teeth go into a jar of water at your bedside for the night. It isn't when your hair turns white, or falls out, and it isn't when you have to have those really thick glasses to see.
I guess old is when you have no more enjoyment in having another day of life. Or, maybe not.
Old is your age plus a day...I reckon by that definition, you'll never get old.

Old is only a figment of your belief.
Cereal out of the box before the milk is old.
Sneezing before the next sneeze is old.
School before you attend is old.
Your younger sibling is old.
Parental discipline is old.
Accepting responsibility is old.
Working is old.
Taking care of kids is old.
It don't have to be age related.
