I think it stems, mainly, from a lot of republicans being white trash or rednecks who hate minorities.

Not all Republicans hate minorities, of course. However, ever since Nixon employed his "southern strategy" in 1968, when he appealed to disaffected southern democrats and welcomed them into the party, Republicans have counted on the racist element in the US as part of their base. These people all left the democrats in the 1960's due to Kennedy and Johnson and Northern liberals supporting civil rights.
Republicans have continued to court this group through various means, symbolic acts and code words, like Reagan kicking off his campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where three civil rights workers were murdered in one of the 1960s' ugliest cases of racist violence. It was a ringing declaration of his support for "states' rights" — a code word for resistance to black advances clearly understood by white Southern voters, Then there was Reagan's attempt, once he reached the White House in 1981, to reverse a long-standing policy of denying tax-exempt status to private schools that practice racial discrimination and grant an exemption to Bob Jones University.
Not to mention Bush 1's Willie Horton ad, Trent Lott's statement about Strom THurmond and tacics used against Harold Ford in the 2006 tennesee senate race: "In rural Tennessee, the Republican Party's subtle political literature read "preserve your way of life," a slogan made infamous by men in white cloaks. On the radio, a Republican ad slammed Ford's "liberal record," accompanied by the sound of jungle drums in the background. But it was on television where the sting of race-baiting resonated most. The Republican Party's ad that portrayed a half-naked blue-eyed blonde saying, "Harold, call me" sought to strike the fear of miscegenation into select white voters frightened by the taboo of interracial sex".
George Allen's famous Maccaca comment etc etc.

Liberals are disrespecting minorities when they say Republicans are against them. Liberals typically believe in lots of taxing the people and then spending tax dollars on programs that are "good" for the people. Republicans think if they let up keep more of our money, we will take care of ourselves. Liberals also believe the programs are mostly used by minorities (they think they cannot take care of themselves...a slap in the face), so if Republicans are against high taxes and programs, they MUST be against minorities, which is not the case.

Let's see.It might be because I get about six emails a week from Republican goobers attacking me because I'm a Jew.I haven't had any liberals call me a kike,a heeb,or,and I'm not kidding,""a Jesus killing Illuminati bastard".
I haven't had any liberals tell me that I'm the reason George Bush invaded Iraq,or that I'm responsible for 9/11(not Jews in general,me personally).
So,I think the thugs on YA are proof enough.

I would like Liberals to define what is meant by minorities, because it seems like the term changes to incorporate whatever disenfranchised group they wish to exploit as voters.

Maybe it comes from having conservative radio personalities talking about aborting black babies to lower the crime rate or referring to young black female athletes as nappy headed hos.
