I have decided that this is the laptop that suits me. I am not a heavy PC gamer. But I love that it has 200Gigs HDD, HD DVD player, 2 Gigs or RAM. But I am not digging the CPU. Is it possible to upgrade to like 2.0 or higher GHz? I also plan on getting a better battery, because the battery life for this is poor. Maybe if it's possible, upgrading the Video Card... But I just don't play PC games. I mean, Oblivion is probably the heaviest graphic game I own and I just don't play it anymore.

So, can you help me find out where I can customize this? The Toshiba Website won't let me, atleast what I see.

Laptops use slower clocked processors to conserve power and reduce heat. - there really is no particular reason set an arbitrary speed limit. 2.0 ghz mobile cpus are much more expensive than 1.66 ghz cpus. If as you state, gaming is not an issue, then raw cpu speed is not nearly as important as adequate RAM and graphics chip for running Vista. Seeing as how that is a Core 2 Duo chip, it will perform better at 1.66 Ghz than a Pentium 4 running at 3.6 ghz.

actually u shouldnt worry about the cpu speed cuz it good enough to play most games but the graphics card is a shared so there is a very slim chance u can upgrade it but everything else on it seems good i play some of my games that require 1.8ghz or more to run and i play most of them on 800mhz and they run fine because ur processor (cpu) really used for physics and mainly video but if u know how to tweak ur os just right it will run better

Hi. A better (or second) battery seems like a good idea but the CPU at 1.66GHz may be limited by the motherboard. I would look for a faster CPU first before I bought it.

I suggest you keep shopping if you dont like the cpu or graphics adaptor. You can't upgrade graphics on most laptops and doing any "upgrading" such as cpu will void your warranty. You need to look at laptops in the $2000 up range to get what you want.
