Its an acronym, not a girl's name.

It's a modular upper stage rocket operated with solid propellant, used with space shuttles, Delta, and Titan launchers. It was used to carry satellites from a low earth orbit to a geostationary transfer orbit or an interplanetary course.

Hi. It's not a girl's name. I think it stands for Power Assist Module (or similar) and it is used to boost packages into a higher orbit.
