Well, the 5 pointed star is obvious.. and can be used as a protection of source.. or just to creep you out.. the "M" is the rune Ehwaz which roughly means movement.. The triangle, means many things.. but with no other markings on it, i'd say it is the straightforward triple God or Goddess aspect.. (normally, you'd use a triskelle for that, but if they were in a hurry or artistically inept.. this would work..)

I'd say it looks like someone wants them to move..

The one side of the "M" is trailing out of the picture though.. was there anything on the end of it?.. If it's a bind rune it could be a combination.. (Using what's in the picture I'd say it's a bind of ehwaz and Isa (Standstill).. which is odd, since they are sort of the opposite.. One is movement and one is stagnation.. )

The 13th is within 3 days of the new moon.. normally you would use this time to bring new things into your life..

There are so many things this could mean.. it all depends on the intent.. It could very easily be someone's attempt to help somone move on from something.. a past relationship, a bad grade, grief.. or even just someone's attempt to freak people out.
Movement and stagnation can not exist together.. it's one or the other... sometimes people need to get their life moving from a point where they've been stuck.. and others, need to stop and reflect because they have been doing too much.. the timing makes me think it is the first..

It's not specifically Wiccan, although it MIGHT be something occult... or it might be someone just being juvenile. Pentagrams are generally symbols of protection, despite what Hollywood might portray. The triangle could be anything from the Triple Goddess to the Christian trinity. The first thing it reminds me of is someone mostly misinformed trying to replicate a ceremonial magic summoning circle, but it makes no sense to just draw it outside someone's house, and there still wouldn't generally be a pentagram in it. (The caster would stand within a circle for protection and the spirit would be called to appear in the triangle.) The M leaves me clueless.

Occultists frequently create their own symbols tailored to the specific task. However, there's really very little reason to leave such a drawing outside someone's house, so my gut feeling is that its someone trying to scare your friend. Magical attacks are actually pretty rare, for a whole host of reasons (ethics, practicality, etc). They very well may have just used three random symbols without any meaning to their use at all. I'd love to hear about any follow up.

It's not a Wiccan symbol. Many Wiccans do tend to use a pentagram, but-from the orientation of this one-that looks like an upsidedown pentagram, which is associated with Satanism.

Before you worry, that probably means that there's a band going to perform on the 13th. It's pretty common, especially among teenagers, to use the upsidedown pentagram because it's taboo (and therefore cool). It may, however, mean that your friend will have to suffer loud, dissonant music on the 13th.

I feel that there's a giant change. The main issue is that almost all "fluffies" name themselves "Eclectic," which confuses the trouble. A fluffy is any one who has no clutch of historical past, and little or no information of the Craft, however refuses to study. They feel that Wicca is something they desire it to be, and that any one who tells them or else is illiberal, judgemental, or dogmatic. They are, at the one hand, very near-minded to detailed books, authors, and traditions that they erroneously feel are "Dark," and alternatively, so open-minded that their brains have fallen out. For a few of them, Wicca is a political assertion. For a few it justifies their animosity in opposition to Christianity, or in opposition to Men, or in opposition to their moms and dads, or in opposition to the "Normals" mainly. For a few it's fable achievement. It makes them consider like they've manipulate in an or else overwhelming global in which they beforehand felt fully powerless. Some have misplaced contact, to a point, and feel that they are dwelling an episode of Charmed, or they can not inform the change among Wicca and a D&D sport -- the forms of humans who forged spells with a d20. Some fluffies are easily younger dabblers -- a few will develop out of it, and a few will develop into it. Others are easily posers who're utilizing the Craft to seem cool. So the change among an Eclectic and a Fluffy is whether or not or no longer you understand what you are doing, or care to. An Eclectic takes an experimental system to Magick, utilizing what works from a type of traditions. Eclecticism takes plenty of study, plenty of labor. Fluffies regularly name themselves "Eclectic" in view that they feel it excuses them from doing the study. But, because the historical announcing is going, you have got to recognise the foundations earlier than you'll holiday them.

Just because a set of symbols incorporates a pentagram, does not mean its Wiccan. *rolls eyes* I'm pagan, and have a number of Wiccan friends, and I've never seen its like before. Most likely explanation is kids getting into mischief. Get a hose out and wash it off.

I find myself in agreement with Kaija. I also read runes. My question is also "what is new in your friends household? Is someone moving? But it is nothing to be freaked out over. It may even be something as simple as some teen "fluffy bunny" trying to frighten her, for what reason I do not know. But being a witch myself of over 40 years, I can assure you that it is nothing to be frightened of.
