Whats up with people saying "err" "erm" what the freak? I've never heard anyone say that word until I was reading on the internet. What's erm and err supposed to mean??

"err" or "erm" is like hhmmm
The person wants to say "l'm thinking" or "he/she deliberately made a mistake but corrected it".
Britney Spears is a great singer..err...maybe to some.

I guess people that don't want to curse say , "what the freak", Kinda instereing, I might start saying, since I don't like to curse.
