the red-eye effect is caused by the flash being to close the lens. The same thing can be seen with animals caught in headlights on dark roads.

easiest fix is to soften the flash when taking the picture, or, on some cameras, you can hold the flash in your hand, away from the camera lens...I am sure that you have seen professionals do this.

She's been possessed by a demon or an evil spirit. I know it sounds stupid but it's true. The church of Science and Jesus have reported that people that show up in picture with red eyes are possessed by something evil. Most of these evil spirits derive from where they live, it may not cause much harm, but it can affect someone physically. Like they could be running less or be able to carry less weight, and also making bad choices in their life. As I've said before, this is not a religious reason. This is also a Scientific reason, a demon isn't just a little red guy with horns, it's also something that can affect your life, physically, mentally, and even emotionally.

It's when a person looks directly at the flash when it goes off and that is the light redirected back to the camera.

The light from the flash reflects off of the retina.
