I've given away skateboards, scooters, bikes, clothes, cameras, etc. I got a lot of free puppy stuff, and a brand new treadmill.

I have both given and gotten stuff from my local Freecycle group. My ex left behind a ton of stuff that was happily rehomed, and I've been decluttering my life as well. Excess furniture and kitchen gadgets, books, my ex's "project cars" and such have all gone out my door.
I got my outdoor chairs from Freecycle, and some camping equipment. It took three separate Freecycle meetings to get my kid's bed - one for the frame, one for the box springs (still in plastic!) and one for the mattress.
Our local thrift stores tend to get overloaded with clothes, so I make an effort to periodically offer a bunch of clothing (like "big bag of clothes, women's XL casual wear). I do still donate to the thrift store and shop there, so I don't thing they are hurting.
Note: We do have a cheapcycle group in our area, but it hasn't impacted Freecycle a whole bunch. People may advertise on cheapcycle, but if it doesn't sell, they offer it on Freecycle.

YES! someone was giving away some riding clothes and one of the kids in our local Pony Club needed some. I will be giving away two microwaves that someone gave to us for a yard sale that we never held. My sister got a TV center and a couch off of it as well as their sons cat. I know she has given several things on it as well

I've gotten quilting cloth, two 8' shelves, cat carrier, cat scratching post, cat steps, some office supplies and have given out clothes and some VHS tapes I made from the TV. I'm sure there's more but I can't think of it right now.

I have used it to give things away. Since a branch of "Cheapcycle" has opened up in our area, we don't get many offers of anything worthwhile on Freecycle any more. They all get on and ask for things (cars, clothes, computers, one just asked for an entire work wardrobe, and she listed brands, color and style she wanted - and one guy asked for an engagement ring for his girlfriend!!!) but go to Cheapcyle to sell, instead of offering on Freecycle.

I haven't given or gotten anything from Freecycle, but I've enjoyed moderating my county's group for the past year. Plus, it was chosen by Y! for beta testing the upcoming Groups format. I just loooove beta testing!

Yup, my dad is this undesirable. whilst he first have been given his pc, he asked me "how do you song it in", yet all over lower back he asked me what a working laptop or pc is. i'm getting somewhat annoyed with him, as a results of fact he continuously writes down notes for the stuff that I teach him then telephones me later to invite the thank you to do it. _ D
