When I am accelerating it starts to pop and sounds kinda like its stalling out but it doesnt, also when I am at a consant speed it also does that. Now when I even start it up I just stalls out and right when I go to start it up, the starter is brand new and I can hear it trying to kick over but it just wont start up. I just had it fixed and my mechanic can't figure out why it is making as he calls it popping. Please help!

whens the last time ya had the fuel filter changed fuel injection modles do not run well with a dirty filter the filters are made to clean the fuel alot more that the filters of old, dirty filter prevents the correct amount of fuel and at the correct pressure to run right..also your distributor cap might be carbon tracking causing this

Start with the basics first. Has your truck had a full(more than just spark plugs) tune up? It sounds like your engine is experiencing a miss fire. That usually tends to get worse over time such as in your case. Cap,rotor, wires, and plugs for starters and make sure the fuel filter and air filter is changed.
Now days- people(mechanics included) seem to assume all performance problems need to be a complicated and expensive repair. Most times they are not! I hope this helps.

Need to check the fuel pressure first. If it is too low then this can happen.

If fuel pressure is within spec's then it may be the EGR valve is stick open. When this happens it will run at high idle or high speeds but stall at low idle or low speeds.

It sounds a bit more like low or no fuel pressure and the fuel/air mix is too lean.

Good Luck!

I read you problem. So your truck is getting spark and getting fuel right. OK if I was you this is what I would do. Have your mechanic or some one loosen your exhaust pipes be for your Catalytic converter. Start it and see what happen. IF it run fine then one or both of you Cats gone bad. the O-2 sensors tell the computer how your motor is running and it will adjust it from there. If it too rich mix it will not start. but if your Blazer is cab then it could be something else. I hope this help you. Please let me know if it did or not.

you might need a new mechanic. if all he can do is describe to you a popping sound and tell you he doesnt know whats wrong then maybe hes not a very good mechanic.

fuel pressure regulator.......check it. most likely it is bad but sometime you have to replace the whole throttle body as some are built in.. had an 89 do that. then make sure your egr is clean and working.

Have him check the fuel pressure regulator. It could be failing. It could also be a bad ground to the fuel pump.
