Do you think it was because he ate Vegemite in huge quantities?

I don't know about that, but I did hear that the Vegemite Enema's left him constipated, and finally killed him.

It was started by putting it in his baby bottle, probably thinned with milk. as a toddler he was spoon fed Vegemite. As a teenager he realized it contained a steroid to make him grow faster. He wanted to be taller but it wasn't in his future. He just spread out.
When Colonel T Parker noticed that Elvis could sing for hours on end, he gave him some in injectible form to take effect faster when he sang.
Poor guy was so manipulated.
