First thing on the list is to see if you have ANY vets in your area who are familiar with either of these two species since they're considered exotics. You'd also have to check your local ordinances to make sure these species aren't on the banned list or they'd be confiscated.

Have you updated yourself on the care and feeding, expense of keeping, and general hygiene of these animals? Did you google anything about them? (I'm really hoping you know I mean www.google.com ).

really you should know the requirements BEFORE you decide on one as a pet - also you need to know temperment etc..
often they are housed in too small of an area - they are prone to running into fences and breaking their necks...

most exotics DO NOT benefit by being pets.. its more of a selfish thing by the owners who want to fill some need in themself by owning something "different" from everybody else and is seldom in the animals best interest...
please - get a cat...

Um... I have a red eared slider and a cat... but I'm not sure what he is cause I got him when I was 4. In my family they ARE the closest thing to exotic we are ever going to get.

You must first find out if it is even legal to own these animals where you live. It is illegal in most places. Secondly, if you really care about and respect these animals you would have NO interest in keeping them as pets...they belong in the wild!!

These animals don't want to be your pet.

They don't do well as house animals. They don't potty train, and they destroy stuff.

They ARE NOT dogs in bouncy clothes.

Hold on, I'll get you care sheets.
