Well, I wasn't there, but I understand that it was as usually happens in dictatorships. You like it, you feel well. You don't like it, you don't feel well.
However, in Franco's ruling things were not so bad. There was order, peace, food. People could find jobs. You could travel in and out of the country.
Also, old Franco took care of leaving Spain stable after his death, designing the future king of Spain.
Possible bad points, censorship concerning political opinions, slightly adult situations in the movies, absolutely NO pornography

Spain was a fascist dictatorship under Franco. This means that individual rights were limited and the supermacy of the state was extolled.

very repressed and backward. It wasn't until Franco died that Spain became a modern country.
