The reason why he's like this is because his mother didn't show him much love when he was growing up, she always beat him. So what should I do?
We've been together 9 years so there is love there

you can't make him show you affectionate...but you can love him unconditional. Don't look at his past... be his future. He'll come around.

i'd say to just talk to him and tell him you understand why he isnt very affectionate and why he doesnt respond well to your affections , but that you would like to have a way of being affectionate towards him without him getting upset, so maybe you can suggest .....just holding hands....or putting your hand on his leg ..........or any little "signal" you both can work out
that way you may be able to get some type of "affection" and you wont have to worry that hes going to get upset by it because it will be "your" signal

The same thing with me, I am my wife is not, and i miss that, but i learned over the years there is nothing I can do, that's just the way she is, and grew up, that's my only regret in our relationship but is very important to me

Dump him. You don't want to live the rest of your life with this clown. Let him find himself some unaffectionate female and they could be perfect for each other while you find yourself some real plizaya....

Counseling! Get to a therapist quick! and if he won't go, either get used to living without affection or living without him.

just show him you love him without all the affection.. chances are if he didn*t get it when he was growing up he won*t want it now...

Talk to him and try to get him to go get some counseling to help him deal with his issues. He has to move past that.
