Even though I do not smoke, I still think a person should have the right to smoke or not smoke. This is just the beginning, in 09 they will be taking away our rights to bear arms.

Where are the cruise lines rights. You are on their property. They have the same rights that you have sitting on your couch.
By the same token, I don't think the gov has the right to tell a restaurant owner he has to be smoke free. That business belongs to him/her and they should have the personal right to make the choice.

I dont see any problem with it...

they can manage their cruise line the way they want to...If someone else wants to make a smoking-only cruise line, they are more than welcomed to, within maritime rules of course...

Great news, fire is very dangerous aboard ships, its about time they had the same regulations on smoking just like the airline industry.

IT SEEMS YOU ARE REFERRING TO A SMOKING BAN AS A PERSONAL RIGHT?

I SMOKED FOR 10 YEARS AND GAVE IT UP IN 1976--31 YEARS AGO MY DOCTOR SAID IT WAS BAD THEN AND I QUITE--

SECOND HAND SMOKE IS MORE DANGEROUS THEN YOU SMOKING--WHAT RIGHT DO YOU HAVE TO POLLUTE MY LUNGS WHEN I DO NOT SMOKE?

An awful lot of restaurants and small eating places have gone out of Business when they were forced to go non smoking. Talk about taking jobs away!!SELL THEM AND PAY HIGH TAXES ON THEM BUT DON'T YOU DARE LIGHT ONE UP!!

A big infringement and discrimination.

By the way,"have another drink and go out and kill someone."
