Like everyone else here has stated ... I began feeding my overfeeding my goldfish because I wanted them to grow faster and get plumped ... after the first few week of seeing a few fantails swimming with their bellies at the surface, I change that habit and feed them an average amount twice a day. They're not as plump but have grown pretty quickly in size.

Yes, you can kill a goldfish by overfeeding, but not because it gets obese and gets clogged arteries or any of the other reasons that you might be familiar with human symptoms of overeating. Goldfish have been bred to have no stomachs. All they have is intestines, which are much smaller than a stomach, so when they eat too much food at one time, this food cannot process through the intestines fast enough and the intestines get backed up with food. This leads to bloat and swim bladder disease. The proper feeding routine for goldfish is to feed only once a day and what they can eat in 5 minutes time. After 5 minutes, remove any uneaten food. Also, you should fast (don't feed at all) goldfish one day a week.

Yes, but not because the fish overeats. If you overfeed your fish, the extra food will decompose, thereby polluting the tank. This is especially a problem with fishbowls- they're small, so a small amount of pollution affects the water quality more, plus the water is not filtered.

It's not a fish bowl, it's a death bowl. Fish are for tanks, soup is for bowls :) Their are many problems with goldfish in a bowl.

Usual fishes die because of overfeeding and dirty water, but if you have a good water filter and your fish is going to become a sportsfish, it will be more difficult to overfeed it.

Of course. As well as any other fish. They will become obsese and will be not healthy like us who are obsese and often get clogged arteries. Fish don't work the same way humans do, but there are diseases in a way a fish can die like us. I believe fish may pop open at the belly and die if overfed.
