Start cutting lawns quickly. . .Talk to financial aid for help. . .Talk to your counselors. . . Be willing to work to make the cash. . .someone should offer something. Knock on your neighbors doors and see if they need help doing something and don't work cheap. Clean out garages, whatever. If you start doing this on a regular basis it will help your Mom out and you will have some $ in your pockets.

WOW, I've never heard of such a thing... When I was in high school, we got books, with numbers in them, and if at the end of the year if we didn't return that book, we had to pay for it, and if we never did, we couldn't graduate. I guess it's a way to cover their butts.

Anyways, your mom might be able to call the school and talk to them... they might have a system for families that can't afford to pay that (like reduced school lunches)... See what the school says. They might be able to waive the fee.

All schools have government grants for such occasions and there are forms that you can fill out to get such books and a lot more for free. Just ask at the office.

I use this advice alot - get a job poop-scooping - yup, go to houses with dogs, offer to scoop for $10 / $20 a pop, and you'll have your money in a day or so.

Keep it going until snow comes (if you're in a snow belt area) - good money, steady work.
