DENNIS WASZAK Jr of the AP says that the Patriots look like Superbowl contenders with their "dominating" win (38-14) over the Jets... Has he forgotten that the Jets completely suck? Why is there hardly a mention of the Colts' DOMINATING win over the Saints, whom everyone was calling a near-lock for the NFC title?

I wish all these Colts-haters would get over it! Indy's got the best team, and that's final! Stop singing the praises of pretty-boy Brady and his rag-tag Patriots, and start cheering for the winning team!

GO COLTS GO!

You seem like a die hard Colts fan. So you are definitely not going to like this. Alot don't believe the Colts will get far this year. They lost alot of players on Defense this off-season, which was average at best last year. I think they will still win their division, but get kicked out of the first week of the playoffs. Teams will go back to running the ball all day on them, and eating up the clock. Manning is quite frankly awesome. Though he can't light up the score board from the sidelines.
The patriots are going to stroll into the Superbowl. They had a great off season with acquisitions. With Moss, they have the last piece of the puzzle for a high powered offense. Their defense is as good, or better then any of recent squads. Pats have a shot for a perfect season.
Lastly, you are correct about the Jets. They are not going to be competitive this year.

Well the Colts didn't look that great the first half against the Saints. Also, the Saints are an NFC team which is to say, they aren't going to be anywhere near as good as the top AFC teams. Also, the NY Jets almost ALWAYS play the Patriots good. The Patriots are alot stronger this year, than they were last year, where their #1 receiver was Reche Caldwel(who sucked quite frankly and cost them the game against Indy last AFC Championship with 2 key dropped passes).

Unlike Indy, the Patriots looked good all 4 quarters of today's game.

Consider the word "contenders." Did he say that the Colts weren't contenders to make it to the Super Bowl? No. He just said the Patriots had played very well on the road against a good team. I think that's pretty accurate.

I've known several AP writers over the years, and they are some of the brightest people around. They do have to write in a slightly colorless style, but don't take it as a lack of intelligence.

^ guy above me thinks the pats will have a perfect season, HAHAHAHAHAHAH GOOD ONE, fricken NE fans. a little cocky. its not like they have, San Diego, Indianapolis, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Phillidelphia or cincinatti in their schedule

you are completely right about that. the jets are HORRIBLE. did you see the play where randy moss is triple covered and all three guys could have easily intercepted or knocked it down, yet not one guy put his hands up. they dont even care if they win!

they also always underestimate the san diego chargers, before the season last year, almost all the power rankings had san diego from 14th to 18th team and not even making the playoffs, and this year they have just as much if not more talent, and ive seen press writers say they wont even make the playoffs. Norv Turner invented San Diego's offense, and ted cottrell is a genius.

*James M is correct as well

colts are good dont get me wrong, but a few games last year in the playoffs dont mean the defense is on par to win again!
