We No Longer Play Catch (In The Yard) (sexual abuse)
Dippin' my toe in
against my will
Just seven years old,
to him such a thrill
How I really miss
being a kid
As a toddler,
a child
before seven hit
and we no longer
play catch
(in the yard)
Just the thought of it
now, whisky and smoke
Being felt through the night time
Lord I'd invoke
How I really miss
being a kid
All the fun things
that Dad and
I did
and we no longer
play catch
(in the yard)
Coercing young victims
against my will
Just seven years old,
to me such a thrill
How I really miss
my pure innocence
As a toddler,
a child
before seven hit
and we no longer
play catch
(in the yard)

{This first part is actually about a father sexually abusing his very young son, of coarse, the son has grown up and is telling his tale as he sits in prison (not mentioned here but, that's where I was in my head at the time of writing this. He's recalling a time of playing catch in the yard with his father before the abuse started}

{This last part is the boy all grown up, admitting to the fact that he {by being molested himself) has grown up to do the very same thing his father did to him while still holding the guilt of knowing it's wrong...}
I truly hope this helped everyone, I will look into some revision l8r kk?

A sad poem. What needs to be done to those who abuse children? They need to be punished and given all opportunity to accept responsibility for their actions; they need to be changed but may not be willing to change. If they are a parent then they must lose custody completely.
Jail may not be the answer unless they are so unrepentant that they'd continue to hurt children over and over. Apart from being given the death penalty, unrepentant abusers need to be kept away from society though not completely isolated.
Complete isolation isn't likely to improve a person.

I was abused by my older cousin as a child. Nothing was done about it because I am only now starting to talk about at 20...so 12 years after it started and the people I do tell are only close friends, I'm scared to tell my parents because there's enough drama in the family and I'm finally in really good with my parents and grandparents by being the first grandchild to go to college and on top of that I'm a straight A student I don't want to ruin that, plus I doubt anyone would believe me.
I wish someone would beat him to death. I know for a fact I'm not the only girl he's raped and he took something from me that I cannot get back. I was only a young child and he had no right touching me.
That's a nice poem, and it's true that young girls get abused all the time. I actually read somewhere that 1 in 4 girls by the time they're 16 have been sexually abused. That's not right.

my answer is - they should be castrated and raped anally in a very brutal fashion with a sharp object causing their death through hemorrhaging.
next,i like your poem.nice job. i always think i interpret poetry wrong,i know there is no "wrong" but - that i differ from what the author was trying to say. everyone above me seems to derive that the poem is about - not going outside for fear of abduction/pedafiles etc. (in a nutshell) i take it as the father is the abuser, and the girl misses the time when he was "daddy". what is the correct interpretation if you don't mind? email me,or add details, whichever you prefer.
hugs!
edit: thank you for the clarification,i totally get it now - and it is amazing girl,i mean that. i really do like it. also - a big HUG to my green eyed girl below me,i know how you feel as i went thru a similar ordeal when i was young, only it was my step-grandfather. it does happen more than you think, you always grow up thinking you are the only one,but when you get the courage to talk about it - you realize you werent alone. xoxo

Love the poem. This is a true story about that.
My father now sits in an iron cage
I hope he will never get free.
I was just 6 the first of the times,
He came in to see me.
I could not know just what it was
That he had set to do.
I soon found out just what is was
I cried til I nearly turned blue.
Untill I was 9 he came in to me
I didn't know that it was bad.
Then I found out that Father was sick
I told a friend that I had.
My friend told her parents and they called the cops
My father was thrown into jail.
He had to nerve to want my dear Mother
To go down and pay for his bail.
My father now sits in an iron cage
I hope he will never get free.
I was just 6 the first of the times,
He came in to see me.
It isn't good, but it happened, so I wrote it. I'm not a writer much, but sometimes I try. I prefer to read poetry.

There is meaning to be found in all types of suffering. I also feel that when it invovles children it is especially difficult to accept. The law is there to deal with the offenders, the victim(s) should find within themselves to be worthy of their suffering and bear it with dignity and perseverance.
Jews hold that suffering is a gift from God and, well, they should know. It is through suffering that one can discover most about one´s inner strength that one may not have discovered if one had not had the suffering in one´s life.
Think about the children who are sold daily into slavery and will know nothing else until they die, think about the children who are purposely blinded and maimed so that their parents can live off their increased begging income, think about the children who are denied a childhood and used in ways that we can hardly countenance in the West.
What should be done to the people who hurt children? I Try not to worry now, and pray that God will sort it out.

After reading your poem
written beautifully
I sense fear because I
can remember when it was safe
to play in the yard. But of course mom
and dad would be watching to make sure
everything was okay.
slips and falls one thing
but people who prey on children
are something else but nothing new
I am referring to predators or pedophiles

What is even worse than a sexual predator is when it is a parent. It happens more often than you hear about. I would personally like to see them all hanging from an old-fashioned gallows, the kind that didn't break their necks, but choked them slowly, deliberately, and make all would be predators watch.

I personally think they should be taken down town hung up by the toe nails with their sacks cut open and hung upside down then left to bleed to death while the wild animals eat them.
