why havent the diamondbacks gotten the all star game yet? this season is the stadiums 10th season being played on (12th year since being built)?? i think is shouldve been awarded when the stadium was built, but i guess bud selieg (sp) doesnt think so

and dont say that peonix isnt ready for an event like that, because not long ago the NBA all star game was held there, the fiesta/ insight bowl is held near by every year and the super bowl will be in the area this year

It's going to be tight for Chase Field and I don't have a ligitament reason why they should host one. But here's how the All Star Game plans are right now:
2008-New York
2009-St. Louis
2010-2014-Will be at least one game in K.C.
Then you factor in the new stadium to be completed next year in Washington and CitiField in Flushing. The Blue Jays and Angels have made a lot of upgrades to their home ballparks and the Devil Rays and Marlins will have to build a new stadium or move somewhere where there will be a new stadium built.

Best case scenario is that they do bid sooner rather than later.

Teams have to bid for the ASG. Perhaps the D'backs, for whatever reasons, have not yet done so.

Otherwise, even with the back-to-back NL hiccup in 2006-07, the rotation is running thin for visiting all the new parks, so Phoenix is probably going to get the Game before 2018.
