I hit a financial roadblock that cost me $400 and change. Soon (but not immediately) I will need to get that money back. Working is not possible at this time since I am a full-time college student (in at 10, out by 5ish). I refuse to sell drugs/my body, and I don't own a car. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. Thank you so much.

When I was a full time student, most students could manage 15 hours of work per week.

Here's how you can work and study at the same time:

Work nights at a gas station. It's quiet, so you can study between customers.

Babysit. Once the kids are in bed, you can study and get paid for it.

Tutor at the school in your field. You'll deepen your understanding of the material in the process.

Check with the college - some have a student assistance program where you wash dishes in the cafe, or some other part time flexible job on campus.

Depending on what country you live in, the donation of a pint of blood to the blood bank might result in cash.

Become a 'mystery shopper' - a company will pay you to visit one of their stores / restaurants, and in return, you give them feedback on whether the staff met their expectations that week.

Sign up to sell Avon. It only costs $10 to start and includes everything you need. Avon is not a scam like so many others. Their products sell themselves! You can easily make $500 profit in 2 months especially at this time of year gearing up for holidays. Work your own hours, as much or as little as you want. Avon's skin care line is #1 in the world! Yes, I am a rep and leadership at that, 5+ years now. Contact me if you are interested. I can sign you up no matter where in the US you're located. I don't usually tout Avon here in this forum but it is an answer to your needs. You can sell it at school. There is even a line called MARK that is geared specifically towards your age group but also has wide appeal.

You live in New York? Go apply as a waitress at a restaurant, preferrably one with a bar. Tell the owner/manager your problem and that you need little training (when you train, the wench who trains you usually pockets all the tips). In tips alone at any NYC restaurant, you should make $500 in 3-4 nights. I know a bartender/waiter in Manhattan who makes $700-$800 a night.

You are only in class from 10 to 5, and I'll bet that's not every day. I'm sure you can find part-time work before 10 or after 5, or on weekends, through which you could easily make $500 in less than two months.. Even if you only made $100 a day, you could do it five days. Good luck.

How about working during the weekend only?

I used to work only part-time (three days a week only) and in two months, I would make about $2000 (after deductions) so what are you waiting for?!?

Full time at both? As in 80 hours a week? I believe you could make $2500/month, you'd be miserable, and you'd lose a lot from taxes.

You can tutor. Charge $20 per week. You just need 3 clients. Over 8 weeks that will be $480.

Work weekends. $8 per hour x 8 hours x 8 weeks is 448 (gross). (I worked 40 hours/per week for a couple of years while going to college full time, it's hard but can be done).

Write papers for other students for money.

Do laundry for other students for money.
