Look in the mirror, picture the opposite, and there you have it.

Like the old saying, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, it is that which is appealing to an individual. It could be your best girl, a sunrise, a flower or whatever and most of these things I just mentioned are subjective. What I consider to be beautiful may not be to you. Most people would agree about a sunrise or a flower but when it comes to how you might view a girl you consider to be pretty, then it may come down to personal taste, the same could be said about a song or poetry. I have been told that my personal taste is a bit off the beaten path but that only means that I am my own person and what I like is what I like and thats the way life should be.

"for dumb english class"...? Yeah, I'm not gonna help you do your homework. Your smart, your a big boy, you can do it yourself.

Besides, if you can't make it through this then how do you plan on making it through the rest of the class or your life? It doesn't get easier, ya know...

Just try yourself 'n try hard, then you'll get a brilliant feeling after-wards. A feeling of accomplishment that you did it yourself. Plus, when your older 'n more mature 'n know more, you'll understand why it's so important.

You'll think differently in your future, but it's best to start now so your past won't haunt you.

Luck.

Beauty involves all five senses: seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting. A person sees something pleasing to him; a chocolate bar, a woman, a movie, an angel, a rose...

then the person hears something pleasing to him; music of all sorts, outside his head, inside his head... surround sound or one amp...

then the person feels something pleasing to him, and smells it and tastes it... That is beauty in several forms. Poets take it even further. Read "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost...and many more. Good luck...

I have doubts that your English class is dumb. If you have to sit in class for hours and hours anyway, why not learn something useful?

The beauty that we tend to see,
Is only that of skin.
Real beauty hides from prying eyes,
It's hidden deep within.

The things that make us who we are,
Our inward quality.
They make us who we really are,
Not who we seem to be.

Our love of family and of friends,
Respect for nature's things.
These tend to tell the world we know,
That hearts do really sing.

These things we had within our hearts,
That most will never find.
They make up beauty uncompared.
And cause our hearts to bind.

There you have my version of what beauty is.

edit:
Beauty is only skin deep, ugly is to the bone.

Honestly, I feel really joyful right now. It feels like beauty. Beauty is a playful childlike mind that finds kindred spirit! That is beauty.

"I see beauty
in most any thing
In man. the world
and within me
Beauty's not captured
alone with eyes
It's also a feeling
from deep down inside"
