I looked at everyone elses answers first most are good but I work at Target and if you are shopping on a budget that probably wont work not terribly expensive but it can add up. If you wish to buy new clothes check and see your twon or neighboring towns have a Platos Closet. They seel lightly worn name brand clothing at a great price that anyone can afford. Or a place similar. If you cant afford clothing at all right noe check out some of the new fashions, lay out your clothing and see what you have to work with. MAybe if you are old enough see if you can get a part time job. That would also take some burden off your parnets if they are going through some tough times. Good luck, Remeber High School can be hard even for the rich kids. Keep your chin up and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are some tips:

Thrift shops are the best way to get affordable clothing and sometimes, you find the coolest looking clothes - more stylish than what you would find in a department store!

What I used to do also, is I would use my babysitting and after school job money to buy my own clothes. My dad was out of work and my mom had to be careful about what she would buy us. This took the pressure off of them and made me feel good about myself for being responsible.

You can get a job at your favorite clothing store to get a discount on their clothes.

Do you have any older sisters or female cousins? Ask if they would give you their hand-me-downs. Do they still use that term today? It means when a younger relative wears the old clothes of their older relative.

Learn how to sew. You can buy your own material and patterns and make your own clothes. Or take your mom's, sister's, cousin's old clothes (as mentioned above) and if they're out of style, with a few sewing tricks you can update them and make them your own!

Last but not least, mix and match! Meaning, don't always wear the same top with the same bottoms. Change your accessories or throw on a scarf to make a top look different.

It may be hard right now to have to deal with this, but no matter where life takes you - this situation will help you in the future to appreciate the value of a dollar and is giving you problem solving skills too! I admire your attitude - rather than getting up here and whining, you're asking for advice matter of factly.

Good luck!

I have an awesome idea. Make your own jewelry. It's fun and you can add your creative touch to any design. The cost of one necklace is equal to a beading kit. Plus, you'll get a llot of compliments on your own jewelry, and even more attributes to your own design :)

For clothes, add a belt around the waist in a slant, but not in the loop holes. How about a cheap "used" jacket (at like a Goodwill or Savers) washed and clean, cut the arms a little and the length you can shorten and you have an amazing summer jacket. People will love it.

You can do so much with a small amount of money!

But 2 very important words for you... "Walmart" and "Target." Thank goodness to cheap department stores too!

Good luck, and hope this helps :)

I'd look in the following sequence: 1) a 2nd hand store. A lot of them have cool stuff at 1/4 the price. For instance, in Tucson, Buffalo Exchange is very stylish and trendy. 2) Go to a big swap meet. I'm talking about the ones with at least 100 different vendors 3) Goodwill and Salvation Army and others like that are OK but you have to be there at the same time the new shipments get on the floor. 4) Church auctions are also excellent sources for pennies on the dollar.. Just google them in your area. 5) Garage sales are OK but you have to go to a lot of them to find what you want.

Look, I grew up dirt floor poor and there were times we didnt have th emoney ot pay the bills let alone owrry about being stylish. The thing that helped me was most of the women in my family had colthes left over from the 50's all the way up till the 80's. Most people jsut throw the stuff they dont wear in a box and put it away somewhere. I loved wearing the vintage stuff. no one else had it. It wa sgreaat. I always looked good and got compliments on everything. Ask around, aunts grandmas cousins any older female releative might have this kind of stuff just shoved somewhere. And dont be embarrased to shop at thrift stores, believe it or not alot of teenagers shop at them, its the greatest way to find original clothing and set your own style. I'm only 20 so i was inthis situation no to long ago, so let me tell you this, my favorite find was a pair of vintage 1940's oxfords, my greatgrandmother had in a box on her porch. I was thumbing through a Cosmo not ot long ago and Isaw a pair exactly likee them going for 400 dollars, but of course they werent vintage, so not as fun. Vintage is all the rage seriously, open any fashion magazine and somewhere in it it someone wil be wearing some vintage fashions. Don't worry about what other people think, wear what you like, if you like it , you will feel confident and look awesome. Please, email me if you wanna know anything else, I have tons of tips on looking fabulous for free. And I hoinestly know what you are feeling. I'm experienced. kirstinkay@sbcglobal.net

Take a look at the new fashions and see if you can adapt some of your clothes to look fashionable for this year. Maybe you could add a belt, or hem a skirt. Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. Jewely is just one way to do this. Different belts worn in different ways can make your outfit look very different every time you wear it. So can different shoes. No money? Go to a re-sale shop and find items you can work with. (Don't knock re-sale shops. I bought a gorgeous pair of brand new heels last year for $6.) If you are really good at sewing, or someone in your family is, cut out a picture of what's new in fashion and have them take your skirt or dress apart and put it back together the way you want it. If you wear jeans to school you haven't got much of a problem. I suggest you take a course in sewing at your school this year (if you are able) and learn how to alter clothing (after you learn the basics.) But if you are willing to learn, I'm sure you'll pick it up in no time. You'd be surprised what you can do with that old dress or skirt if you know how to sew.

p.s. if you shop at a re-sale shop, no one but you has to know where you got it.

Make sure you do not repeat your look twice in a row. If you are limited in pants and need to wear them all the time make sure you use a different shirt . To look like you have more clothes do not wear the same shirt 2 days in a row always leave a couple of days in between and add a belt and different jewelry every time make sure when repeating clothes you change your hairstyle a little bit to take away from it. Mix up outfits and jewelry so when you wear them you it appears to be a different look. 1.A plain day, 2.a funky day, 3.playful hairstyle day with jeans from plain day with a different shirt.
4. funky day bottoms with plain day shirt with some fun looking jewelry etc. Do your week like that!
All the Best!!!

Well you don't need to be rich to have style!
All you need to do is focus on what's in..and also try wearing clothes good for your figure and skin. Like colors, if you have light skin try wearing really bright colors, and if you have tanned or dark skin try wearing pastels. Also a big trend right now is all about mixing colors. Try mixing really bright and dark colors. And wear cool jewelry which you say you have :) But just a little advice no matter what you are wearing confidence is the key, so feel cool in your clothes and be confident :)

If do not have the most stylish clothes, try catching people's attention with your hair and makeup (if you wear it) instead. Try out different hair styles, and makeup styles. Mix it up a little.

If you can, get a cool belt that can go with a few different outfits. Just see if you can mix and match what you have so you can make more outfit combinations.

Most importantly, the most stylish thing you can wear is a smile:)

outlit stores have clothes on sale all the time. also try clipping coupons for groceries for ur mom or dad. im not jokin. i saw this lady on oprah lol and see clipped a bunch of coupon all the time and so when she went grocery shopping she would get a whole cart full of stuff for on 20 dollars!!! no joke. this way there will be more money for other stuff and clothes. also if u have any free time see if your neighbors need any help around the house for money or baby sitting. i know you dont want any more chores cause i certainly dont but this way you can save up some money for yourself for clothes. also if you have a best friend maybe ask if you can borrow a fav shirt of hers just to change it up a bit. im sure see wont mind me and my best friend do it all the time. and finally just budget yourself. if you ever find yourself thinking do i really need this then you dont need it. ooo ya if you have any old books like for school or just reading you can sell them on amazon.com. and two more things if you have any clothes that are too small donate them to good will i heard that they lower taxes for you or some thing like that. ok and now finally if you have anything that you dont use any more llike old toys, barbies from when you where little, or beenie babies (i still have mine lol), or like w/e sell it on ebay. hope i helped :-) and good luck
