Another vote for AbsoluteWrite.com/forums. The quality and professionalism of critique there is well above any other writing site's that I've visited. People do not offer praise where it's not due, and do offer encouragement to try again when the writing's serious flawed.

Too many writing sites have members blowing sunshine and rainbows up one another's backsides, telling each other their writing is good when it's not. This serves no purpose, since the work will still be rejected when submitted for publication.

Personally, I have no problem posting portions of my work at AW's Water Cooler for critique. Since the Share Your Work forums are password protected, for members only, there are no previous-publication issues to be resolved, and I know of zero incidents of plagiarism from those boards.

I do, however, delete the work after it seems to have drawn all the critiques it's going to, usually after a week or ten days.

BTW, I'm the only person I know whose work *has* been plagiarized and sold by someone else. It didn't happen as a result of posting online at AbsoluteWrite but from another online critique source.

You can join Absolute Write Water Cooler. but I seriously y5, advise against posting your work online. Plagiarists have a picnic with it. And publishers do not want to get involved with work previously posted online due to expensive legal issues establishing true ownership. Pax- C
