Dear Shannyx3x,

Sorry to hear that you cannot fall asleep.
Since you are only 12, I would suggest not to take any kind if a medication for it.

A few questions though -
1. If you fall asleep at 1am, what time the next day morning do you wake up?
2. Do you take naps during the day?
3. Are there any physical activities you do during the day that may tire you to fall asleep?
4. Do you eat well?

Please answer back with the above questions and maybe I can help you if not I can find you some help!

Hope you can get some sleep tonight!
Take care

Do you drink caffeine?
One thing I have noted in my own experiences (about to turn 16) is that it is harder to go to sleep because of my caffeine intake, hence me trying to stop. What you should also note is that you are starting puberty. The chemical your brain releases to make you fall asleep is much later than 9:30 - studys show it may be as late as 11-12 or more. I have found though that, try to awake every day at the same time, and fall asleep when your body feels tired (without caffeine). Then, you will be getting a perfect amount of sleep because your body will be used to waking up at the time you chose.

Hope I could help!

if you can't fall asleep for a while, then start going to bed later, or get up and do something.

you are more likely to fall asleep after you do something than just staying in bed trying to fall asleep, i read it in a magazine.

try reading a book, or getting a snack, and try going to bed at 10.

i hope i helped.

Try drinking a warm glass of milk (no chocolate) and reading a good book in bed until you become sleepy.
