i am so stressed...esp with single parenting of a difficult child. obviously suicide isnt an option as a single mom....but i feel the urge to cut myself i feel it would calm me and make me for more control

what should i do to better cope and to get the thoughts of cutting out of mind!

If possible try to find time to set aside for yourself each day to do something you truly enjoy. People have limits of how much stress they can take and having a section of time each day that you can dedicate to what you want to do helps. Try finding a way to take out the agression in other ways. Some people play instruments or run. I honestly had an art teacher once who told me that one of her stress relievers (and trust me, she needed it) would take all the pottery the kids in her class had made but didnt want and smash them on a cement floor and then sweep it all up. Something like that work...just try not to be too destructive with it. Try finding someone you can talk to like a family member or friend who understands you and whenever you feel like cutting call them and talk to them. Even if you dont talk to them about what you were thinking about doing before you called them it will still help. Good luck with everything and remember the darkest of nights can sometimes bring the brightest of dawns.

Personally...I used to cut to...I'm 13 and was really stressed....most people will say it's stupid....but just think....you deserve to be able to scream in a pillow...your raising a difficult child.....don't cut! it doesn't make it better and it will ruin you.........
talk to someone....have a time where you dump that kid on someone else and have a bath.......cutting just makes it worse...
if necessary go online and kill things....

Then cut.

Hospitals may not treat you though if you wounds are self-inflicted. Seeking attention often requires drastic measures.
