Why don't you just browse the costume websites or look up "make your own costumes" on Yahoo websearch, or just read all the suggestions already here, to get some ideas?

Okay, still stumped? At least give us some details about yourself: what do you enjoy? What kind of personality do you have? Age? Male or female? Size (roughly--slim, average, short, plump, extra tall?), and they might at least give us something to go on!

Thanks!

M.R., I am ON the HALLOWEEN board. La Princess, I was not rude, I just don't understand why they don't use the internet when apparently they have access to it.

I am just trying to lead people in the right direction, we can't help anyone that doesn't give us details to lead us.

Some people just require feedback. Don't act like you've never asked someone a redundant question.
Yahoo Answers was built with the idea in mind that people would provide answers to simple if not complex questions..

I quite agree with you. I KNOW it's the Halloween board, and I KNOW people don't want to do the same boring costume ideas every year, but yeah, like others said, either browse the other questions or browse some Halloween costume sites, or at least give us something to go on. As for the person who commented that she has an idea and wants tips on how to pull off a costume, that's different. You're not just coming on here saying "What should I go as?" and it's anyone's guess what you're looking for.
I also agree that there are other things you could discuss, like history, party ideas, harmless Halloween pranks, how traditions have changed since you were a child, etc. (Hmmm, that last one might be an interesting question to ask....)

Laziness, perhaps? I knew I wasn't the only one thinking this. I almost think there ought to be a subcategory for it. Someone else mentioned that there isn't much to ask under the category in general (costumes and history), but I think there is more.

For example, I really enjoy the holiday and I've been coming around recently looking for ideas for decorations. I also see questions having to do with party ideas to trick-or-treating etiquette, etc. My point is, I would like to see a few subcategories such as: costumes, decorations, history, trick-or-treating, etc.

I think it would help if people would simply search through the questions for ideas (even the last few weeks or hours!). There are plenty that run the gamut from "group costumes" to the omnipresent "sexy but not slutty costume" query. I agree that it would help if the people asking for costume ideas would give us some more details.

I kind of wondered that myself. But then again, what other kind of questions are you going to ask about Halloween? I guess I could post a "What kind of candy should I give out?" sort of question, maybe that'd be a nice change of pace. It would be interesting if someone wanted to talk about Halloween practices, controversies, history, etc. But no one hardly ever does.

I agree. They can't decide for themselves, but it's really hard to advise them when we don't know what they look like or anything about their interests or personality. We may as well just throw darts at a costume magazine and make suggestions.

Or maybe telling us about themselves takes them too far down the thinking process...

Well, I asked because I already have an idea, I just wanted to get a few more tips. SO don't worry about what I do.

Hmmm...I don't know.
Perhaps this is Yahoo! Answers, and people come on here to seek answers to their own personal questions.
And they don't need people judging them or complaining; if you have a problem with it, don't answer.
