Right click on touch pad icon at bottom in task tray, choose properties, at top under setting click on disable.
You can also go to start, all programs, click on control panel and click on pointing devises and select touch pad and disable.
Hope this helps

Often plugging in a mouse will do.
Sometimes there is a button that turns it off near the touch pad.

You have to reboot your laptop and as it's booting back you you need to press the F2 key as it's booting to get to the setup pages and go through until you find the settings for the mouse/touch pad and switch it then hit esc. and save

in the lower right hand corner of your taskbar there should be an icon that has a picture of a touchpad, double click it and a settings window pops up, from there you can turn it off or on. good luck!
