When in high school, this is considered to be "cool." After graduating you may find that females prefer older males because usually they are more settled, more responsible and usually they aren't running after every woman in town. Older guys haven't hurt me like the ones closer to my own age, so I feel more comfortable with a man 10 - 15 years older than me. Not all women do, but a lot like the feeling of security and the mature attitude that usually comes with a man who has a few years on them. Some older men have had bad experiences with women their own age, some like having younger women as attractive eye candy, and some people, despite their ages really have more in common. It really depends on the man, the woman and the circumstances. That is usually what tells you why they "click" together better. My relationship had nothing to do with the man having "more money." He just acted nicer and treated me with more respect. We been together for over twenty+ years now.

Yes and no. It depends on the age and the individual. If you have a girl who is under 18 and a man who is older than 21, the may have ulterior motives. His thinking is she is more easily manipulated. When you are older and have some life experience, then you might be a little more compatible. This situation appears to be a little more on the superficial side. You never once motioned what you have in common. You only talked about what you liked about him and how me made you feel. The same could be for him, he might also like the idea of being with a younger woman.

There is a sense of security in dating older men. They have a foundation and a base that women are attracted to. When the gap is very wide, an older man can often provide a financial support base, gifts and other delicacies that younger women enjoy. PERSONALLY- I don't care for older men. (smile) As Mom's Mabley, a famous Black Comedian once quipped: "The only thing an old man can do for me is show me where the young man is".......lol

Because young immature guys get boring quick. We grow bored and weary of superheroes, action figures, video games, and the like. We get tired of always being the "teacher," "mother," "nurturer," "strong one" etc. We want to feel like someone can understand us, "put us in our place (but in a good way) and take care of us. We wish to find that in a man, and sometimes older ones are more mature and closer to all of that (or so it would seem).
But in the end,(if we are wise) we realize, that it really doesn't matter how old any guy is. The bottom line is "Boys will (always) be boys." The best thing we can do is love them and take care of them, and appreciate them as they are. Fairy tales, fantasies and romance stories are fun but they are not real. Our real "knight in shining armor" is our Savior God. He is everything we are looking for (ironically enough, He's older too...LOL)

Older men tend to be more mature and ready for the commitment that younger women are looking for. I always dated older guys and was attracted to much older men. I married a guy that is a little older, 7 years...and loving it=)

Because the older guys tend to have more money and are willing to do stuff for the younger girls to keep them interested and hanging around.
Additional: And girls only tend to mature physically before boys do, not mentally and/or emotionally. Every girl who tries to pretend otherwise simply displays their own immaturity by trying to act as though they are superior. In fact, since females have to go through a rapid physical change earlier than males, then they have less time to prepare for it, and so it becomes more taxing on them than males when they go through it. So the earlier physical maturity for females can be said to create an obstacle for further mental and emotional growth that men seldom have to contend with themselves, thus actually stunting a female's emotional and mental maturity. Which would explain why they act as they do.
And as you can tell by most of the answers from females, its about what they can get out of a relationship. The relationship tends not to be about them and the guy, it's about them and what they get from the guy.
BTW Girls tend to also have this mentality that who they are with defines who they are (you'll notice this by how they hang in cliques). So being with some guy who is mature, stable, interesting, intelligent and/or has money somehow makes them that way, also, as though osmosis was in some way involved.

Older guys have more money. It's that simple. Also, a woman looks for someone who can take care of them whether they need it or not. An older guy is usually larger and has more money to spend on them. It's a win - win situation.

Older men have more confidence even if they don't look good. They're not afraid to ask a woman out. They would rather try and get a no than not ask and not have any young women at all.

My thinking is that there is a certain instinctive thing that drives the "women liking older men" thing as well as the "men liking younger women" thing. Men like to provide and protect, and women like to be protected and provided for, so this particular age scenario is appropriate. It's usually on a totally unconscious level, I think, but it's definitely out there.
