I believe I need some electrical work on an outlet on one circuit in my house and may be going away soon. Would it be ok to leave this one particular circuit OFF on my circuit breaker? Is there anything wrong with doing this? Just turning this particular circuit off and leaving all others on? Thanks!

That is fine. No problem at all. And a good idea in your case.

Whenever I leave town for a few days I shut off several breakers that don't need to be on while I am gone. I turns off the laundry room breakers, most of the kitchen breakers (everything but the fridge), the hot water heater, and some of the different rooms in my house. I figure it saves money so why not do it?

It would be ok as long as nothing like the refrigerator or freezer or fish tank etc. isn't plugged into an outlet that is on that breaker. Just make sure nothing that needs to keep running is on that circuit if there is something then plug that appliance into a different one.

As Lostandconfused said, make sure there isn't an important appliance on the same circuit. refrigerators , alarm, smoke detectors.

There is no reason why not. Make sure it is the correct one for the repairs and make sure that something crucial like your refrigerator is not on that circuit.
